February 1, 2017 – Electrocube, Inc announced today that, it has acquired Bishop Electronics Corporation, a privately held manufacturer of custom and standard film capacitors located in Pico Rivera, California.
"Electrocube is excited to expand our extensive film capacitor offerings to now include the entire Bishop line of products", said Clay Parrill, president of Electrocube. Parrill added that the two companies have worked diligently to ensure an effective transition with a shared commitment to retain the Bishop brand name and maintain outstanding customer service to Bishop clients throughout the acquisition process and beyond.
Founded in 1977, Bishop Electronics has long coined itself as the "capacitor problem solver" for design engineers and a diversity of industries that span the globe. In fact, co-founders William (Bill) Bishop and James Bowman, along with other key staff, represent a collective think tank of more than 100 years. As Bill Bishop began to eye retirement, he sought a succession plan that would maintain brand equity and foster an ongoing legacy to his namesake.
Given Electrocube's long-standing network in many of the same industries, Parrill was eager to increase sales revenue of his company's existing product line. The asset acquisition agreement process is expected to be completed when Bishop offices close on March 31, 2017. Key personnel, including James Bowman and Greg Bishop, will remain to ensure a smooth transition in the coming months.
Said Bill Bishop of his future plans, "I'm eager to spend more time with my wife, Mary, of 66 years, our three children, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren", underscoring that he's confident to entrust Bishop Electronics to the Electrocube family of companies, which already includes the Seacor, Southern Electronics, and F-Dyne brands.
