VECTRON INTERNATIONAL acquires TEMEX Switzerland saw components Group

August 1, 2003, Vectron International will take over the SAW production site in Neuchвtel/Switzerland, previously part of the Temex group. This production site has been especially successful in the development and production of higher frequency SAW components.

With this acquisition the Vectron group will be able to expand its range of front-end filters for the telecommunications market. This will enable the group to cover all important SAW applications with its own products. So far the product range was mainly restricted to IF-applications.

This transaction is part of Temex's on-going initiative to reduce the number of its industrial centers. "We are happy to hand over our Swiss operation to Vectron International, who will offer our former employees the opportunity to leverage their personal investment in their production site. This will also allow us to concentrate our SAW components activities in Temex Microsonics (Sophia-Antipolis, France), that we acquired last November from Thales", said Jean-Yves Courtois, CEO of Temex. Temex Microsonics will continue to develop, manufacture and sell the range of SAW components previously manufactured in Neuchâtel.

The production site in Switzerland will continue to be a design and wafer manufacturing site and operate under the name of "Vectron Frequency Devices Swiss GmbH".

The responsibility for all SAW activities of the Vectron group will remain with Telefilter GmbH in Teltow/Germany.

Vectron International is a world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of frequency control products using the very latest techniques in both bulk acoustic wave (BAW) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) based designs from DC to microwave frequencies. Products include crystals and crystal oscillators; frequency translators; clock and data recovery products and SAW filters and components used in telecommunications, data communications, frequency synthesizers, timing, navigation, military and instrumentation systems.
